Made from Canadian maple, these oat shuttles are well balanced and smooth. Kiln dried. These Leclerc boat shuttles feature a closed bottom (except the small one) and are beautifully shaped. Bobbin Winders

Schacht Bobbin Winders
Schacht offers several styles of winders: manual and electric, single ended and double ended. The Schacht single ended bobbin winder has a tapered shaft that will accommodate bobbins up to six inches long. It is available with our manual bobbin winder only. Double ended winders can be used for longer bobbins, pirns, and spools. They are available both in electric and manual models.  Both of our double-ended manual and electric winders are available with special tips for winding lace bobbins.  Conversion kits are available.

The Ashford Warping Mill 

holds up to 16 yards of warp.

Warping Mills are ideal for long warps.  Instead of going back and forth with your arm to measure threads like on a warping board, the warping mill goes around and around which is quicker and less tiring.  Schacht warping mills come in two models: the vertical warping mill sits on a table, and the horizontal warping mill which may be used either on a table or on the floor.  Both mills have a two yard circumference, will hold up to 18 yards of warp, and can be folded up for storage.

Louet Warping Reel

Foldable warping reel and yarn blocker in one. Warping reel has the circumference of 59" and a base length of 33". The maximum length of warp you can make depends on the yarn and the number of threads used.  The smaller the bundle of threads the closer you can guide the windings to each other, the more rotations you can make. Six dowels can be mounted at either reel end, allowing for a warp cross.

Tekapo knitting yarn is great for weaving too!

Ashford Tekapo Yarn really is such a lovely range with which to weave. The beautiful landscape colors produce stunning results. The following scarves have been photographed still on the loom (Rigid Heddle).

Traditional Red and Mid Green Dark Red and Mid Green Mid Green, Aloe and Lavender Brick and Cameo Dark Grey and Natural White 'Millenium Bugs' 'Millenium Bugs' was woven by Kazue on an Ashford Table Loom in Tekapo yarn in Navy Blue and Sand.   Use two contrasting colours and the bugs will come alive. When choosing a loom it is hard to know whether to choose 4 or 8 harnesss. With the Ashford new Table Loom you can choose 4 now and another 4 harness add-on kit later. For this fabric we used the 8 harness loom on a loom stand with 4 treadles - using the four treadles and the four levers for this eight harness pattern
