Louet Jane Table Loom

jane loomDesigned by a weaver for weavers, the Louet Jane table loom folds for easy transport. The Jane table loom comes standard with 8 Harnesses and an overhead beater that stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle. The beater can also be removed to easy threading. Like all Louet looms the Jane offers a great wide shed. The carry handle makes it easy to take the Louet Jane anywhere. The Louet Jane table loom is made of lacquered beech and has a built-in raddle at the castle (super convenient). Strong metal ratchets allow for good strong warp tension.
The Jane table loom is offered in two weaving widths, 15.5” or 27.5”. This loom is truly lightweight and portable at only 23 lbs or 31 lbs. The Jane folds quickly and locks to a height of only 5 ½”.  The loom is partly assembled and comes complete with a 10 dent stainless steel reed, 200 (Jane 40) or 400 (Jane 70) Texsolv heddles, tie-up and lease sticks and 16 warp sticks. Optional stand, second back beam and bench.

Quantity              Jane 40-15.5 inch $1095.00       Jane 70- 27.5 inch $1395.00

Louet Jane Table Loom Stand

Keep your Jane off the kitchen table and weave where YOU want to. Holes in the side of the stand allow you to move the front and back beam into the stand (a Louet innovation) just in case you want to weave a super long warp (20 yards anyone?). Other table looms can not hold such a long warp since the build-up on the cloth beam will not allow for a clean shed after a few yards.

Quantity              For Jane 40 $280.00       Jane 70 $345.00

Louet David 70- 28"  8 Harness Floor Loom

Check out the Louet David, a populLouet David Loomar small floor loom on today’s market. Weaving on this loom gives you a real appreciation for the word balance. “

The Louet David is a compactly constructed floor loom that takes less floor space, but still has many of the same features of a large floor loom. The “David” uses an ingenious but simple to understand system of springs and pulleys, which produces a generous wide shed with remarkably light treadling. The Louet David floor loom has a built-in raddle (super easy to use) and shelf and comes standard with eight harnesses and ten treadles. The tie-up is made to the metal parallel lams, which can be tied either singly or in combinations, allowing for unbalanced weaves not possible on the usual kind of sinking shed loom.

The David loom is made of lacquered beech and is easy to assemble, following step by step instructions. Included in the standard eight harness version are 10 treadles, 800 “Texsolv” heddles, a stainless steel 10 dent reed, 2 lease sticks and 16 warp sticks, plus instructions. The Louet David comes standard with strong metal ratchets, an optional friction brake is available. The back beam of this loom folds up to save space while the loom is idle. It also passes easily through any standard door frame. FREE Freight on all Louet Floor Looms within the continental US and Canada. NO sales tax!

Louet Spring 90- 36" 8 Harness Floor Loom

The Louet Spring weaving loom is one of the most innovative cleverly designed floor looms on the market today. It uses the Parallel countermarch system.
An exclusive feature of the Louet Spring loom is the patented moving breast beam controlled by springs.
The moving breast beam  allows for exactly the same warp tension each time the warp is advanced.
The advantages of this system are especially evident as you near the end of the warp. Even when the end of the warp is very close to the harnesses, a good shed can be made, thus saving yards and yards of wasted warp over the life of your loom.
The design of the loom includes a built-in raddle on top of the castle (super easy to use) and a storage shelf for keeping everything you need within easy reach.

The Louet Spring  loom comes standard with 8 harnesses and 10 treadles, but gives the possibility to expand, by sets of 4 harnesses, to a maximum of 12 harnesses. The heddles and tie-up cords are of the Swedish Texsolv system that make them quite strong and non-stretching. The Louet Spring loom has two weaving widths 90 cm (36”) and 110 cm (44”). (See below). It comes standard with eight harnesses, ten treadles, 600 Texsolv heddles (Spring 90) and 800 Texsolv heddles (Spring 110), stainless steel 10 dent reed, friction brake, 2 lease sticks and 16 warp sticks. The “Spring” is made of lacquered beech and comes partially assembled with clear instructions and tools. FREE Freight on all Louet Floor Looms within the continental US and Canada and No sales tax!

The Louet Spring 110 floor loom is identical to the Spring 90 in all things except it has a wider weaving width. Upon special request, a 16 shaft version is available. The dimensions are: width: Spring 90 is 120 cm (48”) wide, Spring 110 is 140 cm (55”), height: 115 cm (45”), depth: 94 cm (34”) and 68 cm (27”) folded. The Spring looms are packaged in two boxes for economical shipping. Shipping weights are: Spring 90: 38 kg (84 lb), Spring 110: 45 kg (100 lb).

The Parallel Countermarch System- Sounds complicated, but is easy!
In a counter march loom, every harness is actively involved in each shed: each harness is either lifted or pulled down by each pedal. The diagram helps you to understand how the Louët parallel counter march system works. Each harness and corresponding lams are attached to the cord, running over the six rollers. The ends of the cord are connected, so the cord is a closed circuit. When treadle A is pressed down, lam C moves the outside cord downwards. The inside cord moves in the opposite direction and pulls harness F upwards, as indicated by the arrows. When B is treadled down, lam D pulls the inside cord and also the harness downwards. In their action, the lams and the harnesses always stay horizontal. This means that all treadles work the same over the full width of the loom. Uneven sheds, for example a satin weave shed, where four harnesses are lifted and one is pulled down, open cleanly every time. The warp ends on the fifth harness do not tend to ride up as they often do with jack looms. When the shed is made, the same tension is applied to the raised ends as to the lower ones resulting in equal tension everywhere on the warp.

The moving breast beam- Perfect warp tension every time!
The moving breast beam allows the harnesses to move easier in their opposite directions. Looking at the diagram that shows the loom from the side, you will see that a shed gives the warp a kind of parallelogram shape. If you imagine that the warp is inelastic (like metal wire), you will understand that making a shed is only possible if the distance between the breast beam G and the back beam H is reduced. When this distance is fixed, like on other looms, the opening of the shed depends completely on the elasticity of the warp. When the shed opens, the tension on the yarn increases enormously, in case of a less elastic warp. That causes heavy treadling and may damage the warp. However, we designed a moving breast beam that is attached with arms to the loom. At the bottom side the arms are held by adjustable springs, to give the warp the required tension. When the shed is made, the arms move and the tension on the warp hardly increases. Threading goes lighter and the warp will never be overstretched. A second advantage of this device is that the springs guarantee exactly the same warp tension, each time after advancing the fabric. The same vertical position of the arms, after advancing, determines the same tension on the warp again. Our Spring, Delta, Octado and Megado looms are equipped with this moving breast beam system.

Louet Delta 110 43" Floor Loom

louet delta loom

The Louet Delta is a modern parallel counter march loom based on the Hollandia (which it replaces) and the very successful Spring. The Delta is easily recognizable as the head of the Louet line of floor looms. It is comfortable, robust and technologically advanced, but above all a weaver's loom. Warp tension can be adjusted by fine increments to insure the tension is just the way you want it. The floating breast beam insures tension is returned to exactly the same tension as you had before you advanced the cloth.

Tie ups are easy. Every treadle is tied to every harness which means you only have to depress one treadle at a time. All treadles work the same way across the full width of the loom because of the parallel system. The Delta's treadles are hinged from the back allowing for a very light weight treadling action. Also, all lams are horizontal which makes changing tie-ups quick and easy. For individual comfort, blocks are available to adjust treadle height.

Harnesses are adjustable to allow you to create slack in the heddles for easier threading and to tighten them for weavingDelta

The brake on the Delta is a friction brake system on the warp beam, which is sturdy and easy to operate. A convenient advancing system is provided on the cloth beam.

The Delta is made of plantation grown ash and is finished with a double coat of clear semi-gloss lacquer. The Delta 110 has a weaving width of 110cm (43 3/8”) and comes equipped with a built-in raddle and shelf, stainless steel reed 40-10 (metric), 1200 (Delta 110) or 1400 (Delta 130) Texsolv heddles (330mm), tie-up and lease sticks and 16 warp sticks. Louet Octado Dobby Loom

louet loomsThe Louet Octado is another great dobby weaving loom from Louet. The 8 Harness Octado has only one treadle and works with a dobby mechanism (you will have to purchase this separately), so even complicated pattern weaving is easy!

A dobby mechanism (programmable shaft selector) is an alternative for the tie-ups to the treadles on a standard hand weaving loom..

With a dobby loom, you can say good-bye to the tie-ups! The new Octado loom has a similar operating method as the familiar Megado. This means a big countermarch weaving shed, and a very light treadling action. Again, easy on the weaver. A floating breast beam allows for exactly the same warp tension all the time. A built-in raddle makes warping super easy! The Louet Octado can be operated with a mechanical dobby, or with an electronic interface. (Your choice!) The electronic interface works with most popular computer weaving software, including Fiberworks PCW, Patternland, PixieLoom, Weavemaker, Proweave and Weave It.  Choose from 70 cm, 90 cm and 110 cm weaving width (28", 36” and 44”) The middle section of the Octado loom (where all the shafts are) comes completely assembled. A detailed instruction manual will help you to complete the assembly without any problems.

Louet Dobby USB Files Please note that the interface works with either the serial port or the USB port.

The interface has a built-in serial to USB converter. To use the Interface through the USB port, first install the USB driver.

Louet Megado Dobby Loom  NEW Lower Price

Louet Megado LoomThis innovative dobby loom is the flagship of the Louet family! The Louet Megado is simple, easy to operate, and robust enough to handle all your projects. The Louet Megado allows for complex weaves without complex treadleing or tie-ups. The Louet Megado features a wide shed, built-in raddle, cloth protector- built into the cloth beam, and a floating breast beam that gives you the same tension every time you advance the cloth.

To create a shed, Louet invented a new system. The selected shafts and the back beam move in conjunction to create a countermarch shed. The lifting mechanism is incredibly light to operate, even when lifting most of the shafts.

The Louet Megado can be purchased with either the mechanical dobby head or an electronic dobby. If you choose the electronic dobby you have the option to choose several software packages that work with the Megado, such as: Fiberworks PCW, Patternland, PixeLoom Proweave Weavemaker and Weave It. The Megado interface supports both PC and MacIntosh operating platforms.

The Louet Megado is available in 70cm (27 5/8”), 110cm (43 1/3”) and 130cm (51 1/4”) weaving widths. It can be purchased with either 16 shafts or 32 shafts. The Louet Megado is made of Ash hardwood and is finished with a double coat of semi gloss lacquer. Included with the loom are: a large shelf, built-in raddle, a 10 dent stainless steel reed, 900 (70cm)/1400 (110cm)/1600 (130cm) Texsolve heddles, lease and tie-up sticks and 16 warp sticks.
