Diamanten Scarf or Shawl
Based
on an early 1900 German knitting pattern, this updated designs to

Diamanten, which is German for Diamonds. Both scarf and shawl are
knit from the cast on edge straight through to the bind off edge.

Leaves Cowl
The
Leaves Cowl is knit in the round, and benefits from both loose cast
on and bind off rows. The pattern is written in three sizes: snug,
cuddly, and super drapey. The snug size is designed to snug up close
around your throat; the cuddly size drapes a bit in front, and can
be pulled up over the back of your head when the wind blows; and the
super drapey size will hang low in front, or pull securely over the
head like a thick hood with enough left to keep your chest warm when
winter winds threaten to invade. DK weight; 110
[215, 450] yards. US 8 (5.0 mm).
18 sts and 24 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in

Tilia Shawl
Named for the leaves and flowers of trees in the Tilia genus,
commonly referred to as linden, lime (not to be confused with the
citrus), and basswood. Shawl is knit from the border up to the top

a triangle as it is knit. To finish, 10 stitches are grafted
together; no stitches are bound off. The nupps were added for
texture, and the delight in making them. They can be omitted or
replaced with beads (instructions included), if desired. Lace weight such as
Merino Lace 800 yards. US 5 (3.75

Finished Measurements: approximately
20 inches wide X 50 inches long. (excluding fringe)

This great looking stole is worked entirely
in garter stitch. (knit every row) The lacy effect
is achieved by wrapping the yarn around the needle
twice, and then dropping both loops on the return
row. We recommend that you cut 126 12 inch lengths
for your fringe before beginning.
Border: Cast on
80 sts. Work 4 rows in garter stitch. Begin pattern
as follows:
Rows 1 & 2: Knit
across row, wrapping yarn around needle twice or
each stitch. Drop both loops on return rows.
Rows 3 - 7: Knit.
Repeat 7- row pattern a total of 50 times, ending with row
7. Bind off.
Attaching fringe: Place
3 lengths of yarn together. Fold in half, using
crochet hook, draw a loop through the lower corner of border.
Draw the loose ends of yarns through the loop and pull down
tightly to form a knot. Repeat across both ends of stole, attaching
fringe every inch. Next row: Starting
at corner, separate fringe into 3 strands, join the
last three strands with the first 3 strands of second fringe with a
knot as illustrated. Repeat across both ends. MACHINE
WASHABLE AND DRYABLE! Machine wash on gentle
cycle using a non-bleach, mild soap. Dry the garment or item in your
dryer on medium setting for 15 minutes, then lay
flat to finish. Press gently with a warm iron.
